SimpleGenerosity Neighbourhood grants continue to help our communities thrive. Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union was pleased to award a $500 grant to the Joy Committee – a group of Winners/Homesense staff dedicated to spreading positivity wherever they can.
“We decided that we would like to extend our Joy into the community and help lift the spirits of some of our seniors,” says Cheryl Gill, Joy Ambassador. “[Seniors] have been isolated for so long without the opportunity to see the people who mean the most to them.” 75 seniors at the Trinity Care Centre in Penticton were in for a surprise when they received a fun kit which contained a puzzle book, a pen, candy, tissue and a handwritten note.
