Helping children thrive

The Community Help Fund from Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union and First West Foundation is sending a donation of $500 to our friends at OSNS. COVID-19 has reduced fundraising opportunities for our charitable partners, please join us and help keep vital programming for children accessible to all who need it.

The Autism Treatment Program at OSNS has been particularly impacted by the pandemic. Because this program operates exclusively on a billing model per treatment session, revenue has been lost and we are struggling to retain our expert team of clinicians and interventionists. Our autism intervention program supports many families with children diagnosed with autism throughout the South Okanagan. This program extends from children aged 24 months to youth. The program not only helps children learn vital activities of daily living such as feeding, toileting, walking and talking but also provides excellence in care for the development of social emotional and social communication skills - we focus on helping children make and keep connections. And it is those connections that are the basis of loving relationships - within families and with friends. These attachments translate to confidence and participation in school and community activities. The South Okanagan Community has been long time supporters of paediatric rehabilitation at OSNS. We need them now more than ever.
