On Friday, June 12, 2020, the United Way Southern Interior BC team hosted another Day of Caring® for local charities in need of personal protective equipment. Packages of PPE were provided to charities in Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon that include protective masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, gowns and, in some cases, feminine hygiene products.

We would like to thank various donors who have contributed to this campaign including the North Okanagan Labour Council who donated the Feminine Hygene Products as part of United Way’s Period Promise campaign. The charities picked up the items at local hotels who’ve partnered with the United Way to store the products and host the event including Penticton Lakeside Resort, Ramada Hotel Kelowna and Vernon’s Prestige Inn.

Total PPE care packages info:

- 39 charities received packages
- 4700 masks
- 2900 pairs of gloves
- 300 litres of hand sanitizer
- Period products as requested
