The Central Okanagan Food Bank has received a generous donation from Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union to help us become more efficient – a new forklift.

“Our new warehouse on Enterprise is double the size of our previous location, has higher racking and three times the cold storage capacity” says Lenetta Parry, Executive Director of the Central Okanagan Food Bank. “Our new warehouse is a very active place. We collect, warehouse and distribute over $4.0 million dollars’ worth of food per year. The reality is that a proper functioning forklift that meets our needs was mission critical.”

“We are an organization that likes to give back to our community” says Kendall Gross, Vice President, Retail and Business Banking at Valley First. “Feed the Valley is our signature cause. When we heard that the Central Okanagan Food Bank was in need of a new forklift, we decided to fully support it with this donation.”

Parry adds “We wish to thank Valley First for lifting the Central Okanagan out of hunger.”
