About us

The Start Fresh Project Society is a non-profit organization based out of Kelowna, BC. Our mandate is to deliver programming which will empower vulnerable community members to make positive changes in their lives through connecting to local food via a farm-to-table approach. Connecting individuals to food through cooking and farming means encouraging improved well-being, as well as improving the long term potential for meaningful employment, quality of life and health.
Our flagship program, The Culinary Arts and Farm Education Program, provides free skills training and connections to employment opportunities to community members facing barriers to employment related to mental health.
As part of this program, we steward a 1/2 acre peri-urban farm that we use for teaching purposes and as a source of income for our project.
