By September, our local food banks have empty shelves because donation drop off severely over the summer. Our fundamental purpose is to raise as much material and financial support for local food banks as possible. We believe there are limitations to what public programs can do in terms of addressing issues such as poverty and hunger, and that responsibility for the well-being of communities – and societies – ultimately rests with their private citizens.
