We’re excited to partner with Barre Fitness South Surrey in our Workout to Conquer Cancer month long challenge! A special thank you to Susan Scarlett for holding a Livestream Virtual Class for us so we could tune in from across the province for her fun & challenging Barre class. First West Credit Union, will be donating $500 to @WTCC in partnership with Barre Fitness South Surrey.
All this month our staff have been pushing themselves to commit to a minimum 30 minutes of intentional movement each day as part of the Challenge which raises funds for BC Cancer Foundation to support cancer research and patient care in BC.

February 4 is World Cancer Day and this is my mom and my daughter, 26 years ago, just days after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis. I'm very proud that today, Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union and BC Cancer Foundation announced a two year partnership! Our partnership will dedicate funds to the greatest area of need across BC to advance research and innovative care. Watch for our employees as we rally our support through a variety of engagement initiatives in the coming weeks and months.

WE'RE BREAKING DOWN WOMEN’S CANCERS
This year, more than 3,700 women in our community – grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends –will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 1,570 with a gynecological cancer.

Thanks to YOU, BC Cancer is on the cusp of truly changing cancer outcomes for women forever, bringing innovative therapies to cure more women through precision medicine.

Here's how we're leading the charge:

BC Cancer initiatives like B-PRECISE and OVCARE are leading the world in terms of better understanding women’s cancers and developing treatments based on precision medicine
Thanks to BC Cancer breast cancer screening and treatment, BC has the lowest incidence of cancer and the best outcomes in Canada
In the past 18 years, BC Cancer’s OVCARE program has fundamentally changed the global understanding of reproductive cancers
NOW is our time to act.

Make a gift today to help B.C. stay one step ahead of women’s cancers for every patient, with every test and every personalized therapy.

Earlier this week, we celebrated the achievement from the team at STEMCELL Technologies who raised over $25,000 for critical research and care at BC Cancer. This was the 5th year of the employee giving match program that increased the grand total raised to $93,600! We thank everyone who took part in this incredible campaign. With your help, we CAN break down cancer in BC.
