Sport Program Volunteers/Coaches (Kelowna)

Empowering people with intellectual disabilities through sport!

Special Olympics BC Kelowna is looking for program volunteers and coaches for our current and upcoming sport programs!
Our program volunteers play a vital role in delivering quality sport programs to athletes in our community. Volunteers in this position are responsible for assisting and supporting coaches at weekly sport practices. Prior sport-specific experience isn't necessary, just an enthusiasm and willingness to help our athletes have fun and achieve personal success!
Time Commitment: 1-1.5 hours per week for 3-4 months at a time, depending on the sport.
We are also looking for assistant coaches with sport-specific knowledge to bring their skills and experiences to our programs. If you have prior experience coaching or playing a specific sport and are interested in a coaching position, please reach out to us for more information!
We are looking for volunteers for the following programs:
Spring: Track & Field, Fitness Club, Golf, Softball
Fall: Swimming, Basketball, 5 Pin Bowling, Fitness Club
Winter: Alpine Skiing, Curling, Floor Hockey
Special Olympics BC provides on-boarding for new volunteers and training opportunities for coaches through NCCP courses and professional development.

This volunteer position has no scheduling requirements attached to it. You can work out your availability and time commitment directly with the organizer.
